Valpo - 2025

Valparaiso (Indiana), or Valpo for the initiated, is a fun little town in Northern Indiana that's worth a gander, a stop and chat, a solid walkabout, and certainly a note, or two.  If you're looking for some good grub consider Stacks with is aged library motif and reasonably priced eats.  Another good stop for some after dinner cocktails is Next Door at Birdies (be warned, they occasionally have live music).   

Probably owing in part to the nearby university or just that Northwest Indiana possesses a seemingly inordinate amount of coffee shops, there is no lack of coffee shops to park at.  Consider: 

• Blackbird Coffee -- More laid back, plenty of outlets and seating, can get hot in the summer. 
• The Coffee Press -- Coffee is secondary to what's primarily a bookstore, but by no means is coffee on the back burner here.  Great spot for an espresso or something more complicated.
• Fluid Coffee -- A regional player with a polite gothic/alternative outlook offering IMHO the best draft oat milk lattes in town.  
  

Okay, technically not in Valpo, but the summer sunsets are a draw.
